View Full Version : [ubuntu] Installation on one hard drive, moved to another computer, driver reconfiguration

I have one computer that has no possible way of installing an OS on it. I have put its hard drive in another computer, and installed Ubuntu on it. I plan on moving the hard drive over to the first computer. Obviously, there will probably be driver issues. How can I have Ubuntu rescan for hardware changes? How can I remove old drivers? How can I install the network driver manually? (Since I am assuming I pretty much only need to get that one working in order to install the rest over the internet)

Is there some sort of "failsafe" type installation that installs a bare minimum Ubuntu that is guaranteed to work with as many mobos and network cards as possible?

Thank you!
