We'll need more detail.

Output from:

lspci
lshw -class network
iwconfig
ifconfig

And what security do you use? Best to try with no security first, to ensure it works.

Have you used the wifi on the Dell Ubuntu before?

The problem is the "Network DISABLED" entry in lshw for your wifi (Intel 3945).

Is it possible you disabled it in BIOS?

What version of Ubuntu are you using?

I don't know how to re-enable it, or if it was disabled. I am using 8.04 I believe

I fixed it, it was a serious blonde moment problem. Thank you for the help though
