Hello,
I'd like to change in ubuntu 8.04 the application which is associated with pdf.
I know the way of "right-click" on a pdf-file, then properties and choose the conveniant application,
BUT this does not work for example in catfish. If I search there for pdf files an double-click on them, they are still opened with evince and not my new pdf-reader.
In Nautilus and pcman it works fine.

Any ideas ?

Looks like a problem with Catfish, if both Nautilus and PCManFM are working fine. What happens if you try to open a PDF using xdg-open in a terminal?

xdg-open takes evince, not the new standard application. By the way, do I have to restart or even reboot ? (I don't think so , cause this is not unix philosophy)
