I'm running ubuntu 9.4 and the latest version of wine.

Whenever I try to do the whole mounting the dvd via the terminal thing I get an error that says my computer cannot find the installer or something like that. No, it's not because I put the wrong path, trust me, I did it right.

So, instead of doing it that way I tried downloading the universal installer, but now another problem occurs... It won't read my wotlk dvd from any of the drives I put it on. I typed:

sudo redit /etc/rstab

and everything "seems" to be right, so I don't know what the problem is. Any ideas?

I myself havent installed WoTLK yet but I plan to do. Here is the wiki page that might help, http://www.wowwiki.com/Wine
Steps 2 and 3 from installation part seem interesting to your problem.

you have a couple of choices...

If you have the time go to www.worldofwarcraft.com go into your account and download the online installer... it will take a few hours to complete but it does work.

If you have a windows install you could go into windows and copy all the cd/dvd files to a folder, boot back into ubuntu and install from that folder.

There is also a way to show the files on the cd but it was way to complicated for me after driving for 14 hours so i just used the online installer and went to bed.
