I recently set up a Fedora 11/Ubuntu Jaunty dual boot. I now have found a smaller HDD, around 40 GB that I want to use as my root and /boot drive, while using my 60GB drive as /home for both Systems. Is this possible to do without a re-install?

Yes, I believe so.

As long as you don't have more data than your new HDD (duh... lol) you can 'clone' your old HDD to your new one. I did this recently on my laptop (got a bigger and faster HDD, and just wanted to replace without having to install everything again).

Now, there are utilities that will do this for you. When I did it, I did it through Windows (Shame on me, I know), with an utility called Apricon EZ upgrade.
Oviously, you need something for Linux, which I'm not aware of, but my guess is that there has to be one.

I will look for one, and you might want to do the same.
