Hi guys, its been a while since I've used Ubuntu, but I'm thinking about trying it again. Anyway, last time I tried it, I had a lot of issues, including Compiz not working. I thought it was just the fact that I was using an old laptop with sub=par graphics. But when I installed Linux Mint (an ubuntu derivative), Compiz worked perfectly. I don't know if it could have been a gnome/KDE difference or what. I didn't know there was a difference back then. And now I can't find my Mint CD, so I can't try it again. Also, currently, I'm using gOS (another ubuntu-based distro), compiz came with the package, but it doesn't work, like before.. Anyway, I'm just curious as to why it would work sometimes, but not at others, when its all supposedly the same thing..
