Hello,
first time user of Ubuntu and I was quite excited to get rid of the old windows...
I installed the 9.04 version and upgraded the Ati drivers.
Since I had no idea of how Ubuntu works I followed the automatic suggestions.
But the problem was that I couldn't set the optimal resolution 1680*1050 for my monitor...
I then tried to unistall the current drivers and reinstall them again.
That was clearly a mistake cause after the reboot I got a black screen and the mouse cursor was the only visible thing...
I have no idea what to do, I tried once again to reinstall ubuntu and got the same result.
Any solutions that might work??
I found a few possible ones but I have no idea on how to use commands cause I'm new to all this.
Thanks in advance!
