I got four ethernet points in my computer. I am a bit in a loss.

02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82573L Gigabit Ethernet Controller
03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82573L Gigabit Ethernet Controller
*snip*
07:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 80003ES2LAN Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Copper) (rev 01)
07:00.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 80003ES2LAN Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Copper) (rev 01)

The ethernet controller shows 80003ES2LAN, so I take it it states local area network.

Does that mean that I really have to use a router to hook up online?

I cant just set up static IP that is given from ISP, and connect without any router.
