Hi people! I have just been trying out Open Solaris 2008.05 on a live cd. It is very similar to GNU/Linux. Does anyone know if it has any advantages over GNU/Linux? I know it does not have the same support as the community is a lot smaller. Have any of you tried it out?
Thanks for reading and advanced thanks for opinions/answers!

I think it has some advantages if you're a developer. That's what their site said anyway.

It's a great OS, but my two biggest problems were lack of hardware support (audio didn't work for me) and a very small repo which had just enough software to provide you with a fully functioning system.

I agree with you here. I couldn't get audio to work and support for wireless devices is not the same as Linux (or the BSDs).
