Having started with release 8.10, I upgraded to 9.04, after an update a week ago 9.04 started locking up on boot up, and the Caps Lock, and the Scroll Lock keys started flashing. I was advised to reinstall release 8.04 LTS for the best stablity. Now I'm a happy camper so to speak. But my external USB hard drive will not mount automatically - I have to log out and log back in to Windows XP to unmount it there, then reboot to Ubuntu before I can access the external drive. Is there a fix for this inconvenience?
