I have run dmidecode and it outputs

Handle 0x0018, DMI type 16, 15 bytes
Physical Memory Array
Location: System Board Or Motherboard
Use: System Memory
Error Correction Type: None
Maximum Capacity: 512 MB
Error Information Handle: 0x0000
Number Of Devices: 1

so it says the maximum capacity for the RAM is 512MB (I currently have 512MB installed) - HOWEVER, I know the motherboard and system will work with 1GB of RAM, as other people have done it with exactly the same PC running Windows... so my question is... would Ubuntu recognise 1GB if I put 1GB in? Or will it only recognise the maximum that dmidecode states? (ie what the system tells it?)
