Hi People
If I want my desktop to extend horizontally over my two monitors, I need to add "Virtual 2960 1200" to my Xorg.conf file so that I can have that extra wide "single" screen. This works, but kills desktop effects because my graphics card can't create a single texture that wide. It would be nice to have both.
I was wondering if this problem is still relevant now or is there is some solution. Like, for example, Xorg using a single texture per monitor or something. I can't seem to find a decent technical discussion of this via Google because there's so much competing information about 3D effects out there.
BTW: HP 6730b laptop, Intel 945 VGA, Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Xubuntu 9.04
