i am trying to install firefox 3.5 but its not letting me due to out dated dependencies. how do i update them? i have tried finding them in synpatic

I have been trying to do just this for 2 days off & on followed instructions from here:

it appears to have worked form what I see on the command line, closing 3.0.11 and restarting restarts 3.0.11...in Synaptic Package mgr there are some vague references to branded, Dummy 3.5
Donut know why there is not a clear path to upgrade to 3.5...

same problem here. tried different methods, only the one with ubuntuzilla worked properly.
But it is a shot term solution only. Pretty much simple though.
