Firstly I am new to Ubuntu
Current Spec is a old Compac P111 1000Mhz 512mb Ram 120GB HDD totally free.
Tried server does not get past installing base components just crashes or says files are corrupt have download from various sites and even burned the iso at 4x speed to no avail
Desktop sort of installs then get error message about a greeter and will try a different one nothing happens.
Before anybody says the PC is not up to spec
Its had Fedora on it previously and then Windows 2003 R2 enterprise server and it ran well acting as a internal webserver and FTP for my home network.
So is there anybody out there that can help or do I just give up and return to MS
