Okay, I've been trying to figure this out for almost four hours. I just today got my Dell Mini 10v with preinstalled "Ubuntu 8.04 Mini Standard Edition." It seems to register that there are networks, but I can't connect to my home router nor another random wireless network (which has no password). These networks both work for the laptop I'm using right now so I know that that isn't the problem. The specific phrase it says to me after it tries to connect is:
Disconnected
The network connection had been disconnected.
And that isn't to say that it ever was connected =.=
I have the driver enabled, which it wasn't before, but that didn't seem to fix it. I think it may be the case that the drivers and BIOS need to be updated (a little slip of paper said to update them, but it just directs one to the aforementioned Dell support)? Unfortunately I can't use the updater on the Mini because it needs to connect to the internet. I tried manually going to www.support.dell.com (http://www.support.dell.com), thinking I'd download the updates onto my laptop and transfer them to the Mini, but they only offer updates for Windows and not Ubuntu!
Someone please help. What is the problem?
