Try and reinstalling it.

In Terminal just type

sudo apt-get install moodle

Hope it helps.

hi
Is it possible to revert to previous version of Ubuntu. I will end up losing all my moodle data if i were to reinstall.

Do you know where all that information is on your hard drive?

Hi
I will not be able to recover the entire data, it is resting within the application, since I am just a few months into Linux, more of a user actually.
I am trying to understand what went wrong, either the config files got overwritten without me knowing or I have to rewrite file/folder permissions so that Apache can access the data. Can there be other reasons for this "It works!" message.
A couple of months effort has gone in keying in the data into the application. Knowing the reason might help me in avoiding such reversals during future updates.

Basically -- no. You will have to do a reinstall to get the "old" version back.
