ok so I am really new to ubuntu and linux in general. i haven't had to use a command line or shell in quiet sometime. however, most of my friends and colleagues keep telling me good things about it and I am really excited about using it.

so i installed Jaunty to it's own partioned it on laptop. used it for a few hours looking around getting to know it. however, I tried to update things mostly my display drivers. went to reboot it and now after the initial loading screen (after the loader) it goes all fuzzy on me, like the display drivers are messed up.

i tried to reinstall it but it won't let me reinstall over the partition i created and I can't access the partition from my windows vista.

i am really new to ubuntu and any help would be appreciated.

thank you.
