Trying to install ubuntu 8.04 onto an ancient (I mean 600 mghz 190 meg ram VAIO laptop) just doesn't work...
After the "Initializing Linux Kernel" message I get a black screen with a flashing white underscore cursor mark in the upper left corner...
Then after a few minutes of frantic disc-spinning the disc drive stops dead in its tracks and I'm left with a flashing cursor...
I would like to breathe some new life into this thing but if this doesn't work it won't be very good for my faith in ubuntu xD
Laptop name: PCG-FX101
Please help :(
