How could this happen? I went to http://www.ubuntu.com/, clicked the Download button, selection University of Tennessee as the download location, and downloaded the file. I downloaded it to my Windows XP computer, burned the ISO to CD, and then installed it on a different computer, which has just the Ubuntu OS on it. After going through the whole installation procedure and downloading installation 322 updates, I discover I actually have Ubuntu 6.06LTS.

How could this happen? Did University of Tennessee screw up?

Oh, crap, I made a silly mistake. I see I had downloaded Ubuntu 6.06LTS back on 6/18/2006 and still had it on the same hard drive partition that I saved ubuntu-9.04-desktop-i386.iso to. When I burned the CD yesterday, I inadvertently selected the old file instead of the new one.

If a moderator would like to delete these posts, that's fine with me. I would have just deleted the original post but did not see an option to delete.
