Perhaps this is in poor form, but I know some folks enjoy a good Win-vs-Lin discussion. If you'd like to join a fray, there are two threads at www.notebookforums.com that you might find interesting. ...

Most of the folks in that particular area of the forum are fairly geeky ... high-end Dell users who game a lot, mod a lot and tweak things down to the hundredth of a volt.

Ubuntu is being mentioned by name, so I thought I'd call in reinforcements. ... :D

My apologies. I should mention that the threads are not attacks on either OS; they are, instead, folks asking for advice about installing Ubuntu or another distro, and advantages to each.

When I mentioned "reinforcements" (which I realize now was a poor choice of words), I meant folks with more experience than me, who could possibly offer better advice to potential Ubuntu users. Cheers.

I read a couple of Linux vs. Windows discussion in the past and even today. The annoying thing in my option is that everybody (who writes these articles) should that Linux is very different compared to Windows. But from the point of view the most of these people write the article very cleary sugest that they don't understand that Linux is different than windows.

Usually this results into discussions and reviews based on points which are common to highlight and review for Microsoft's Operating Systems and adept these points into Linux reviews.

Also many discussion are even useless to read since they can be overruled with "Not every OS is suitable for everybody."
