Trying to get Gnash to work on a G4 PowerPC running Ubuntu 9.04. After much effort, I got the plugin for Gnash into Firefox and now the web site I am trying to use, Twit.tv, no longer displays the message that it needs Flash installed. Trouble is, the screen where the video should display stays black and I get no sound. I also tested on Youtube and the video and sound were very jerky.

Could I have missing codecs or have program conflicts? So far I have not found any posts on the many sites I have searched that address this problem.

The computer is a Mac G4 PowerPC model M5183 with only Ubuntu 9.04 as the OS. It has 640 Meg of Ram and a 533MHz processor. Ubuntu seems to be running fine and I have run (I think) all the updates. I admit to being a first time user to Ubuntu but have been a Windows users for a long time.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Tony
