Last year, while I was checking around launchpad for new projects, I found out about drizzle, which aimed to be a stripped down version of mysql, designed to allow massive concurrency on multi-cpu/core architecture.

I was very interested in this project. The default database engine would allow for foreing relationships, and performance was (at least as they were saying) supposed to be largely improved.

However, though active development goes on, Ive haven't heard anything new about this project...

So, what is the opinion around here, if there is one, about this. Do you think this mysql fork has future?? Will we see in the near future many hosts allowing drizzle databases?? Has anyone actually tested drizzle??
