In Firefox 3.5 they've changed the name to Clear Recent History, isn't this a bit confusing? I wouldn't count saved passwords or offline data as history, what was wrong with Clear Private Data?

Well its because you can limit it to a certain Time range which is a handy feature if you forgot about Private Browsing ...

I have not used 3.5 yet but I do know 3.0.11 leaves twelve items in History by default even though you select to clear All History. You have to configure Firefox to leave zero items.
I happened to hit a site that would bring me back to their site when I opened Firefox and had Preferences set to clear all History when I shut Firefox.
