I play some dvd video and the quality on Windows & dvd player was much better then on Linux so maybe I don't have some filters or something like that.
help !!!!!

What card do you have, currently to get Windows quality in Linux, you need a VDPAU compatible nvidia 8 series and above card, thats equivalent of pure video technology and will give you same quality, otherwise for ATI and Intel, you are stuck.

Why? Do ATI and Intel have special hardware support for DVD which is only accessed by the windows drivers and not by the linux drivers? Or is there something else going on?

from what you saying I'm (... -.-. .-. . .-- . -..) because I have Intel G31/G33 Chipset. There is nothig that I can do????????
