Dear Friends,
I'm new to Ubuntu and Linux. I've a PC with 160GB hard disc with Windows XP installed.
I was having a partition F: (14.2 GB) in windows, I've deleted that partition using control panel of windows to create a free space of 14.2 GB.
While installing Ubuntu 9.04, I've chosen the option "use the largest continuous free space". So, Ubuntu got installed in that space. But it had taken more than 13 GB of space for filesystem and allowed only 613 MB for swap space.
My PC has a RAM of 1GB, so I want to have atleast 2GB of swap space. How to change the swap space now?
If need to reinstall Ubuntu, how to choose this option?
Please help me.

Bala.

13gb for the filesystem !!!

I think you need to revisit that installation.

Next time try "manual" partitioning.

Can you kindly indicate me, how to choose the free space and swap space option in Manual mode?
Thanks for the previous reply.

So, Ubuntu got installed in that space. But it had taken more than 13 GB of space for filesystem and allowed only 613 MB for swap space.

Something went wrong. Ubuntu only needs abut 8 gb to install. As for swap, 1 gb would be enough. I would retry it.
