Hello all,

I am experiencing problems with a fresh install on my tecra 550cdt, i have a current install of dapper upgraded to hardy, which has usb and pcmcia detection issues as per my other posts, i procured a second hard drive and promtly installed it in the machine. The issue is this when i have downloaded and verified my copy of ubuntu hardy i get two errors which result in dropping the install down to the busybox shell they are:
- Buffer I/O error on device FD0, logical block 0
the second issue is with a jaunty build CD
- ACPI - No DMI Bios Year for ACPI - ACPI=Force to enable ACPI
(this was added in the boot options but still drops to busybox)
- IO APIC resources could not be allocated

any suggestions would be great, otherwise i will stay at a fresh Dapper install as the Hardy upgrade from dapper causes too many issues
