s10e install issues

I tried to install the netbook edition on a brand new s10e.

I need a new partion and install ubuntu over top of windows (a big mistake I guess).

This went fine and and ubuntu was running from the USB key fine. I did a restart and now the machine won't post or even start up. I can't even get to the bios.

Any tips? I am going to try returning the machine. I bought this just to run Ubuntu and from what I have seen on line this netbook should run the this version of Ubuntu "very well".

Well this is resolved. The solution was to turn it off and take out the battery for about 20 mins. After that it booted up fine. I guess the system got in a weird state after the install.
