I have WinXP32 loaded on 2 other drives in raid.

Have you checked the iso file you downloaded with its md5sum to see that it is not corrupt, and also the burned CD to make sure that is good? I have no idea how you check md5sum in windows but a search will soon find that, but the CD can check it is OK; if you hit enter when the CD first boots there will be a menu offering to check the CD for you.

i got the mdsum check. now what do i check under the ubuntu folder? ok i see how to do it, I think. Im downloading again because my disk isnt burned as an ISO. Maybe that is my problem.

Stopped the d/l. Rebooted with the disk. Ran the check disk under the install window for unbuntu. Found no problems. Tried to install again. Got to the keyboard setting window hit forward and it locked up. The screen "blurs". Tried to install under windwos to my D drive, it does install and will boot to Ub. As soon as i try to move a window around the desktop it locks up and that window(text) "blurs". Could this be a graphics driver issue?
This is getting really annoying!

Have you tried installing using the safe graphics mode parameter ?

If that does not, work then try installing from the ALTERNATE (text based) CD version of Ubuntu.
