Yes, his secretary answered and brushed me off. I was trying to inquire on a matter concerning the Ubuntu Foundation and the Nouveau driver pledge.

Not even a dismissal from someone with power, I feel so unloved.

I'm receiving mails from him through the mailing list. I don't see a good enough reason to mail him, though. Of course, a lot of has have something to say to the man but we all know how busy he is and how many people try to get in touch with him.

I generally try to avoid mailing these people. They've got enough on their plates.

Besides I'd prefer it if they focus on releasing software that rocks...not holding 20 questions sessions with random ppl.

So? How is that special?

Why does that need to be posted?

Do you think he is the reincarnation of Amun Ra or something?

This thread comes off as a little obsessive.

I think this might be commonplace in the FOSS community but not so much in the wider business commercial sphere. Maybe people who have used Linux for a while have just become accustomed to this kind of thing?

I've emailed RMS (Richard Stallman) 2 times - he is good at answering every email he gets (takes about 24 hours).
You just must be caution about FREE and OPEN in your emails to him.
(on the second email to him I used to word open in a few of my questions - he declined them, but on the FREE questions he actually answered).

Try sending an email to Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, or Steven Jobs and perhaps you will understand.

If I wanted to talk to a self-important windbag, I'd email my boss.

Not exactly apples to apples comparisons there lol...but Warren Buffett takes lots of time to talk to people. That is why he is referred to as the billionaire next door, he is very down to earth.

But Shuttleworth is not Gates or Jobs. So expecting him to be similar to them makes no sense.

I haven't the slightest clue who Buffett is, so it is entirely possible that Shuttleworth is Buffett.

Buffet may actually get back to you , He's the Omaha oracle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_Buffett) and one of My Idols. A true man of honor and of caring devotion to family and people in need.

But that wiki page can only give you an over view , you should hit Barnes and noble if you find yourself interested.

This is funny, he posted in a thread called "What does mark Shuttlesworth's desktop look like? (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=2011037#post2011037)"

Bit of a thread killer really. :D

And it had the default theming. Not very exciting. But I imagine he has more on his mind that theming his desktop, so it makes sense.

+1

For the record, I have never corresponded with Mark Shuttleworth, and he's never returned any of my non-inquiries to him.

However, I just saved a bundle by switching to Geico.
