Hello All,
I have been using Ubuntu 8.04 on my office pc for the last one year now. And everything went on good. The system that I have in my office has an Intel Dual Core 1.80 Ghz processor with 1 GB DDR RAM and 160 GB hard drive. The system has dual-boot option with Windows XP on it also.
I thought of using Ubuntu 8.04 on my home pc also with Windows XP. The configuration of the system at my home is AMD Sempron 2400+ 1.4 GHz, 768 MB SDR RAM and 80 GB hard drive.
When I try installing it with Windows XP already installed on it, it gives an I/O Buffer error. And keeps on giving it. I don't have much knowledge of Linux, so can't figure out why the error is coming.
I had ordered the CD online from Canonical. So I think the CD might not be damaged!
Can anyone help me on this? Because I have read that Ubuntu has been installed on almost same configuration that I have on my machine with Windows XP.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gurpreet
