I've been using Ubuntu on my desktop for about a month, and I am ready to put it the netbook remix version on my netbook. The problem is it's just too big for a CD, nor do I have a thumb drive large enough. I have an external CD drive for my netbook, but not enough money to buy an external DVD drive for it, or a large enough thumb drive. Is there any way I can split the ISO onto two CD's and have the installer recognize when it's time to insert the second disk? Or do I need to save my money and upgrade my periphials?

No,you can not split iso.You need minimum 1GB USB device.
