Ok, I am new to photoshop and I can't understand anything at all. I mean literally, I can't understand one thing.

They keep saying, in order to do this, I need to click on "this" tool. But I can't find any tools they are talking about. Also, I can't do anything with photoshop at all. I have no clue how to work photoshop and it is driving me nuts! I have had this thing for so long and never knew how to use it.

I tried reading the help manual and they didn't help me at all. They just keep talking about crap that doesn't actually matter to the situation at all.

I tried going on youtube, but they speak as if you know the program already.

So my question, is.... does anyone have any links to any tutorials for VERY VERY VERY SUPER SUPER BEGINNERS at photoshop? I mean beginners period, not intermeidate, not some knowledge. No knowledge at all.

Thanks again. :D

Do what I did, I just kept messing around with it, and played with each individual tool until I found out what it did.

Tools are on the lefthand side. Hover for the name of the tool. Righ-click on it for extended tools. Remember to properly deal with layers.

So you're saying Photoshop isn't intuitive? Who woulda thunk it. I can't help you, chum, but Google is your friend.

This.

Also, go to dA's (DeviantART) Photoshop tutorial page. Most of them have pictures of the buttons you need and really good explanations.

Funny...if you spent the $700USD for Photoshop, I'd think you would have either bought a good book to go alongside, or knew what you were getting into...

I would recommend using Paint.NET (yes that's the name of program as well as the website). It's a free image editing program, such as Gimp, but better. It has the same familiar setup as MS Paint, but with Photoshop like features.

Watch the You suck at Photoshop (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_X5uR7VC4M&feature=fvw) series on youtube. Educational, and hilarious

One of the funniest screencaps I've ever read. I really wish I would have saved it when I first found it.

So he just spent $600 (or $1000, depending on edition) on Photoshop and you recommend he use a free alternative?!

Well, how about this alternative graphics app (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacPaint)?
