Howdy!

I'm VERY VERY new to Ubuntu, as in last night. I've read some forums on how to install games that are compatible on Windows, but they're not really clear. I actually installed the game by using WINE, but it won't start up or anything. I was wondering if anyone could tell me a simple way to install the game, or to solve my problem.

Thanks alot!

just to let you know that some games don't work in ubuntu with wine.

what game are you trying to install anyway?

Ragnarok Online, private server, and on the forums I asked the same question and they said it was able to work. I am able to load the launcher for the actual game, but every time I go to log in it fails to connect. I made sure the server wasn't down, so I don't know what could be causing it to not connect.

You should go to winehq (http://winehq.org) and check their app section to see what people say about that game

Remember this is a per game issue and a wine issue not so a Ubuntu or a general linux problem. Some games run somes dont, that depends on a lot of issues.

Here is the Ubuntu gaming website that has a lot of info on linux gaming for Ubuntu:

This may not be exactly what you are looking for. But there a lot of good games that run under linux.
