How many OSs do you use on a regular basis and/or how many are installed on your computer
I use ******* XP, and Ubuntu regularly. On my Linux machine, I have Ubuntu Studio, Xubuntu and Kubuntu all installed.

Linux and FreeBSD on an everyday basis. OpenBSD, Solaris, Open Solaris weekly twice (since they power a lot of my old boxes, that i tend to over the weekends) and Windows XP at work, occasionally, when I have to prepare some heavily animated slides for my boss.

I've only got my one laptop dual booting Ubuntu and Windows Vista, which I have to use every once in a blue moon for work. However, it's been about 4 months since the last time I booted into Vista and I'm scared to do so because I know it'll immediately be a deluge of popups about security and updates that will eat every bit of RAM and keep the processors at full bore, totally crippling my ability to do anything about it. Vista does not work well with lower spec machines.

Debian Squeeze/Sid (I can never decide between them so I switch sometimes);
Sidux;
Ubuntu (and Crunchbang too, if you consider using Openbox the same as using an entirely different distro);
Slitaz.

I have several computers. As for the OS I use on a regular basis, from the most to least frequently used: Windows 7, FreeBSD (7.2), Debian (Squeeze/Sid mix, mostly Sid), Windows XP (because of a stupid piece of hardware with no Vista/7 drivers), Ubuntu (Karmic). Other OSes I use less frequently include OpenBSD, NetBSD, OpenSuse and Mandriva.

I use Ubuntu 9.04 (everyday use), Windows Vista (gaming)and apple OSX10.5 (music production).

Too much trouble with wine to let Vista go.
No real alternative for Cubase + VST in linux too.

You either must have a really great computer, or you're not playing any serious games.

It really depends.

I use Kubuntu 8.04.2 for pixel art, RuneScape, The Mana World, and programming.

Sadly, I have to use Windows to play Civilization 4, Age of Empires III, Age of Mythology, Guild Wars, Spore, and to use my iPod with iTunes. :(

My toaster, however, has Arch Linux on it. ;)

I use Arch as my main system, and Windows XP for playing FIFA 2008 and making music on Cubase SX 3.

OSX Tiger occasionally when my girlfriend's laptop is with easy reach and I need to google something.

Ubuntu 9.04 for surfing & email,
Vista for video editing,
XP for backup machine (contemplating putting Ubuntu server on it)
98SE occasionally for bits and pieces

Five.

1) A modified version of Kubuntu Jaunty. The default version of Ubuntu with Gnome glitches, Usplash, and with no iptables has too many little annoyances for my taste, so I *FIXED* them as I desired. Choice is good.

2) Windows Vista SP2. For one purpose only. WINE isn't perfect. If it was, Windows Vista would be gone.

3) Windows Server 2003. For work. I HATE it, but have no choice at present.

4) Debian Stable. Servers at work. Good stuff. Nuff' said.

5) CentOS. Not my favorite, but the powers that be decided to use it.

2 or 3... Ubuntu or sometimes Xubuntu Hardy on my desktop machine, Ubuntu NBR Jaunty on my Eee PC.

But I have downloaded eeebuntu Intrepid, which I'm gonna stick on the Eee. So that'll be 3 or 4... except when I put eeebuntu on the Eee, I won't have NBR on it any more...so it'll still be 2or 3, right?

Right? :s

IPCop - installed in a headless box
Leopard - iMac
Arch - iMac
FreeNAS - in drive drawer equipped tower
Mint-6-Xfce - in drive drawer equipped tower
Arch - in drive drawer equipped tower

Don't do much in the way of distro' hopping any more, the above apart from the last Arch which I don't have a use for any more are long term installs.

Arch+Gnome or Arch+KDE for most tasks on my notebooks.
WinXP when I want to play older games
Win7RC when I'm trying to crank up the FPS in Crysis on my desktop
Puppy linux when I have any boot related issues and need access to system files
Vista if I'm traveling with the corporate issued Thinkpad T60 (which is dog slow and makes me wish I could drop the darn thing from 35000 feet in the air).

On the various computers I run:

- Fedora 11
- Ubuntu 9.04
- Vista

I recently removed Windows 7 and Opensuse from those systems.

Most of my time is spent on Fedora and Vista. I hardly touch the Ubuntu box any more. It's been at least 3 weeks since I last used it.

At one time usually upwards to 5 OSs used regularly: FreeBSD, NetBSD, Arch Linux, Gentoo, Windows XP. Right now though I only have FreeBSD, arch, and xp installed thanks to dragonflyBSD and some borked partition work.

I boot Ubuntu then virtualize xp pro, windows 7, mpentoo, dmansmalllinux, olive, grapup, limp, insert, slax, geezbox and rip linux. Over the next week i am planning to add osx leopard also.

mpentoo

I haven't heard of that one, is that a mobile version of Gentoo?

BTW- I wouldn't recommend virtualizing Leopard on a non-apple PC, as it takes a considerable amount of hacking to stop it from breaking with every new update.

Not to mention that it breaks the EULA...

I have a tendency to want to migrate every PC, server and VM I have to a single favorite distro at any given time. On top of that I like to distro hop and thus my favorite distro is not constant. If I use more than one OS its often because I'm "in transition".
