Hey guys,

I was given the task of creating a website for my college's television production club. Basically they want to be able to upload videos, have comments on the videos(like youtube) user biographies, and have a blog section. I could do this from scratch and do hours of labor creating one but they are paying me next to nothing and I want to try and use a CMS this time. So what CMS would those in the community recommend for this kind of project?

I would recommend Drupal.

Haven't tried Joomla.

i've tried Joomla, Drupal and DotNetNuke. Didn't really like DNN. I found Joomla a lot more intuitive to use when compared to Drupal but haven't used either extensively. I'm trying to make the same decision as you.

There's a good prefab django system out there but I'm spacing on the name. (Beats doing django from scratch, I guess.)

Wordpress seems up your alley.

Yes, Wordpress actually makes one heck of a CMS.

I've never used this, and know nothing about it, but bookmarked a while ago after Googling "php youtube clone"

If you goto OpenSourcerCMS (http://www.opensourcecms.org) you can try them all out without installing them.
