Hello all. I seemed to have developed a strange problem after installing the new 3.19 patch for Civ 4- Beyond the Sword. Essentially, the normal game works fine, but I keep getting a crash to desktop whenever I try and run any mods (such as Fall from Heaven 2, which has released a patch for compatibility with 3.19 which works, according to forum response, on Windows). Anyone else getting this problem?

That's normal. The mods still have to be adapted to the new patch. This is the same when running the game in windows.

As I have pointed out, some mods have already issued compatibility updates, which I have installed. BtS regular works, but the mods themselves crash,

Did you have any problems with the 3.19 installer? I keep getting the same error

fixme:urlmon:DownloadBSC_OnStopBinding No cache file
fixme:msi:MSI_OpenDatabaseW open failed r = 80030003 for L"\\C:\\windows\\temp\\{BC35E606-E0D3-474B-8A27-740E5AD7836F}\\{32E4F0D2-C135-475E-A841-1D59A0D22989}\\vcredist.msi"

I've tried different Windows modes (XP, 98, Vista), I've cleared all the temp files in Window/temp in the wine directory but to no avail.

So did your's just install seamlessly?

Did you check the WineHQ AppDB on Civ IV before installing?
Some people have had some problems with the installation (mainly related to the DirectX part) - there is a Winetricks solution.

It's on the site there somewhere. Check it out
