Hi,

I have done sudo apt-get install fluxbox.

Now how to start fluxbox?

OS: UBUNTU 8.10

It doesn't allow me to start fluxbox as gnome is already running.

Kindly provide me a step by step guide to do so.

Also mention how to revert back to gnome when required.

I have googled it & did n't get success. So it would be great if you post in steps here itself instead of providing links.

After you have Fluxbox (or any other additional desktop environment/window manager) installed you can select to use t in the login screen. Just click the session-button, and you should see a option called "Fluxbox-session" or something like that.

Thanks. That works.:D

Couple of more questions.
1) Where is the config file for fluxbox located?
2) How to change default manager from gnome to fluxbox?

Choose default at the gdm log-in screen.

edit to add:
You will be prompted so just click the selection.
