Running 8.04 on Dell Demension 2350,80Gb,512 Ram,Nvidia card. Every time I try the 9.04 Live or even 8.10 install locks up during initial scan. Have to reboot to go back to 8.04. I have tried all the alternatives I can think of but nothing works. 9.04 installed on other computers with no problems. Could it be my hardware?
Please Advise.

Yes, possibly. I say yes because you have managed to install the same liveCD in a different computer.

Try the alternate install CD.

http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/downloadmirrors#alternate

Check md5 hash and burn slow (4x or lower)

Good luck.

Good Advice! I'mgoing to try that. Don't know why I didn't think ofit before, I've used alternate CD's before with Xubuntu.
Thank Much
