due to non compatibility of my graphic card (nvidia 6200:i don't know whats the issue but system doesn't boots with graphic card on ) with ubuntu OS other than hardy heron i am not upgrading it to jaunty or intrepid,so guys how much am i missing, will i get updates regularly for it? any thing exciting in new releases that i should consider worth migrating.

8.04 is still supported, updates should be fine.

To be honest, I'm running 9.04 and while it's been OK for the most part, I really haven't noticed it being any quicker or snappier as has been said of it. I have experienced bugs with wireless connectivity on some routers and problems with wine I hadn't been before (not sure that the wine problems have anything to do with 9.04 - but the wireless definitely does, I saw the bug report on it), so honestly, if 8.04 is working for you then you're not really missing a lot IMO.

//Edit: I just checked the ubuntu.com site for you, and 8.04 will continue to be supported until April 2011. ;)
