Didn't know where to post this. Can't seem to find a wishlist/suggestion box on the Gnome homepage.
I always thought it would be nice if you could name the separators in a menu. For instance: In Internet you could separate the launchers into different named categories (email clients, browsers, remote control, etc) without those separators being highlighted as you went down the menu. Those named separators would have the usual beveled line appearance but would have a label justified to the left (no icon) to differentiate it from the other entries (other than it not being selectable or highlightable).
Good idea? Bad? Pointless? I dunno about you, but those lists grow long after a while if you're one who tries out the latest thing every time something bright and shiny comes along. :D
