I need a help with Pidgin connection problems

3 days ago pidgin stopped working,I run the Update manager then updated some files,but I don't know if that is the reason. It just hang with the message connecting, I think that it listen to port 80, isn't possible for more then 1 program to listen to the same port ? how can I how many program are using the port 80 if this is the port Pidgin listen to.

Assuming your primary IM account is yahoo, try using an IP in this range for the server:
66.163.181.166-66.163.181.189
instead of scs.msg.yahoo.com

UPDATE: Pidgin 2.5.7 appears to have at least a partial fix for this...
