Who's had the Kernel panic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kernel_panic)?

If you have, what caused it?

i have had mutliple kernel panics on my very first Sorcerer install. but it was due to a bug in the iso that i tried that caused the root filesystem not being mounted properly.

rolled back to an older iso, and the problem disappeared.

Sure I have.

I don't remember what caused it, it's been over a year.

Numerous times on serveral PCs. Not sure what caused it, I'm assuming hardware failures, though Windows always worked on the same PCs? All but one instance, Linux had been working and/or installed for some time, then one day. for no apparent reason, Kernal Panic on boot. WTF?

EDIT: Reading the above, it sounds like I have had a lot of trouble with kernel panics, but I have installed a LOT of distros on a LOT of computers, mostly second hand ones off ebay or built from used parts. I can't resist trying to get some distro running on any old hulk I see laying around.

I had one recently - it was related to memory issues.
Run mem test and gave tons of errors.
Other than that i dont remember.

I had one ages ago. I booted to the older kernel and reinstalled the latest, that fixed the problem.

I had a few with the first Mandriva One release, due to my SATA drives or something. Never had one after that.
