View Full Version : UbuntuOne for other OS?

I'm testing on UbuntuOne now. The Web UI is a bit buggy, but the OS client is quite good. I'd like to use it more. But before I use it more, there is something I want to say.

Right now, UbuntuOne is an island. I can only sync folders between Ubuntu. But what I wanted most from cloud is OS independent storage. That means I want to sync folders from and to whatever OS.

Dropbox is good. And I think Ubuntu could do a better job.

If I could sync files from and to my Android and Windows devices, that would be great.

Well, since it's open source, I assume eventually it will be ported.

In the spirit of platform tolerance, we provide all the tools for someone to create Mac and Windows clients. I'm sure it will be just a matter of time before we see something from a generous developer. If you are working on such an application and have questions, please join the #ubuntuone channel on freenode and ask.
