After updated pidgin or Empathy won't connect

I have used my Pidgin yesterday, this morning I have run Update Manager and there was some updates then I did installed them, since that my Pidgin will not connect, I have just install Empathy that won't connect either.
What else can I do ?

Prob. again the yahoo-pidgin problem. There are several threads in the general subforum how to deal with this problem.

same here. Pidgin won't connect. I am now using Kopete. It works.
