View Full Version : Looking for help packaging my project

I made a web application that I would like to work toward including in the Ubuntu repository. It is a rich file index, which is designed to be run on home servers and desktops. Once it is installed, it allows a user to easily share their files with others via http. It has similar functionality to Opera Unite (http://unite.opera.com/).

Here is a demo running on the computer I'm typing on:

By the way, if someone is able to mirror me, I'd appreciate it. I'll be turning my computer off later tonight, so the demo won't be available then. It requires mod_python and setting apache to automatically read an index.py.

The install zip is attached (sorry if the demo isn't available).

Anyway, back on track ... I'd like some help packaging this. I can make a basic .deb that installs files, but I've never made one that sets up a configuration or one that could be used by a repository. Would anyone be interested in contributing to my project by making a nice deb that could potentially work with Ubuntu's main repository?
