I've noticed that the tabs of java based windows often disappear from my bottom panel. I've been having this problem with Matlab and with ImageJ. It's not a total showstopper because I can still alt+tab to get to the windows, but it is kind of annoying. Is this a common problem?

I have the same problem with IntelliJ Idea, it primarily happens when it opens up a dialog when it's doing something. You can get it back by minimizing and then maximizing it, but it disappears again the next time the condition occurs.

I have the same problem (with 9.10 and Matlab 2008a). Is there a solution yet?

None that I know about, unfortunately. It's pretty annoying.

indeed :(. Actually I have switched to Windows again due to this issue when I have to work with Matlab.

Is the bug still there with newer Ubuntu releases? Is there any workaround for 10.04?
