So I've been hearing alot about Empathy and whatnot and I've been wanting to try it out for myself but since I'm new to Ubuntu, I don't really know much on how to "build" and install programs.

If there isn't any Empathy out there for my version of Ubuntu, I was wondering if there are any other IM clients that work more efficient than Pidgin. Not really a big fan of it.

Please add paths as well for any recommended IM clients you post.

Thank you! :D

Empathy is in the repositories; however, i have heard it is an old version. There is a PPA for it, and will post the link when I find it.
