Formatted my harddrive, got rid of windows, and put on ubuntu 8.10, letting it use the entire harddrive. Ubuntu installs fine, and when I remove the CD and restart immediately after the install, the booting slows down at "verifying pool data," and then wants to boot from CD. I CAN boot up successfully into a live session using the CD, but I CANNOT boot without the CD. I am a linux noob and appreciate the help with this. AMD athalon xp 1.8 ghz, 1 gb ram, 300 gb HD.
