I'm thinking of upgrading to Jaunty. I am actually mostly happy with Hardy, but PulseAudio is a real pain in my backside. Has PulseAudio improved much or is it still a pain? It's inability to allow firefox and a media player to coexist, for example, is a real pain.
Thanks

Yes it's much improved but it's not perfect.

I went back to hardy when intrepid came out because of the pulseaudio issues. Jaunty has been a nice experience and I haven't had any major problems with pulseaudio (no more then I ever did with ALSA on hardy at least).

I find it at least 1.5 times better. Before I had issues which were just unexplainable. Now any issue I have with 9.04 at least I can see the reason it wouldn't work.

Pulesaudio is still misconfigured by default in Jaunty. Not so bad as when Hardy first came out though. Maybe by Koala but it doesn't look too good so far.
I still use hardy as my main OS, Jaunty has issues with buggy ALSA drivers and a buggy Pulse0.9.14.

If you want to see if getting pulse set up is any easier with Jaunty you can look at this

As you can see, there is not a whole lot of difference.
