View Full Version : [ubuntu] Upgrade from 7.10 thru 8.04 to 9.xx

How can I now upgrade from 7.10 thru 8.04 to the latest release. I never upgraded when I should have and now cannot find the upgrade instructions. I didn't upgrade before because of all of the original problems with the release, and then I just let it slip by. Shame on me.

I am faily confident that you can go from 7.10 to 8.04 but I do not think (someone correct me if I am wrong), that you can upgrade from 8.04 to 9.04.

I believe a proper install of 9.04 is due.

You could go 7.10 to 8.04 to 8.10 to 9.04 but it will be quicker to just do a clean install of 9.04 and reinstall/set everything up. And will most likely give you less problems.

Configuration files for most of your apps can be saved from your home directory.

Ok. Thank you all. I will do a clean install of 9.04.
